Nationwide, Republican support for the death penalty continues to decline

October 30, 2014 By NC Conservatives Concerned

A recently released Gallup poll shows that Republican support for the death penalty has dropped in the US.

As Townhall Magazine reports, Republican support for the death penalty has dropped 9 points since Gallup first asked the question 20 years ago. Even more significantly, Republican support has dropped 5% in just the last year.

Many conservatives across our state and country are seeing what North Carolina Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty members already know – the death penalty is inconsistent with conservative values and represents a poorly run governmental program that wastes precious state resources while failing to make our communities safer.
